Murray Dyer

Murray has over 15 years experience in energy, commodity and financial markets, including commodity trading, business development and strategic consulting roles. Murray is currently  a Director of Simply Energy, New Zealand Carbon Exchange and Prime Markets. His former roles include founding Director of iVentures UK, an investment development company focused on electricity trading, energy supply and exchanges. Murray was also a certified Futures and Options Trader representative under the UK FSA.

Jason Ellis
Jason is a Massey University graduate in Information Science (BInfSc) with a joint major in Quantitative methods and Finance , and a Graduate Diploma in Business studies (GradDipBusStuds) majoring in Finance. Jason gained Proxime Accessit to Dux (2nd in school) in his final year at Hastings Boys High School. Jason started at Simply Energy in April 2008 and is responsible for the operation of monthly billing cycles, analysis of pricing and consumption data, and maintenance of the company's databases. Jason has developed an intimate knowledge of the electricity market pricing and settlement process, which supports detailed pricing and market analysis on behalf of Simply Energy and our clients.
 

Stephen Kemp
Stephen has over 20 years in financial and energy markets in market and service operation roles. Most recently with the Energy Market Services subsidiary of Transpower as the national reconciliations manager, managing day to day operations, half hour ICP reporting for Powerco, reconciliation market reporting for 15 distributors and report writing for; Electricity Commission, RM Newsletter publication and EMS Board. Stephen joined Simply Energy in June 2008 and is responsible for electricity market rules, regulatory compliance, settlement and operations

Georgina Preston
Georgina has over 10 years experience in the energy and telecommunications industries, performing a variety of commercial roles in pricing policy, marketing and trading. Georgina was on the team that designed the initial market structure for electricity retail competition in New Zealand.  Past employers include TransAlta NZ, Cable & Wireless and Energis in the United Kingdom. Georgina has been with Simply Energy since October 2007, and manages billing and process design.

Stephen Peterson
Stephen has over 15 years experience in the energy industry, including energy retailing, deal structuring, wind farm development, M&E engineering and demand side management. Stephen's former positions include Commercial Manager at Enron Europe,  Director of Products & Technology at Invensys Controls US, and Consultant at Castalia New Zealand.

Chris Seel
Chris is the former COO for ESN Merchant Bank, which managed multi billion dollar investments in the European Markets, including Electricity Markets. ESN Energy founded the first Independent Electricity Retail & Trading business in Russia in 2002 and subsequently sold half to ENEL of Italy. Prior to that, Chris was the Group CFO for IIR Group, a Multinational Medi Group with 56 businesses in 35 countries privately owned by the Baron Laidlaw, and the CEO of Datatech Telecommunications and Technology Consultancy and Training (USA) through its restructuring and sale.

Ewa Glowacka
Ewa Glowacka is an Associate providing Simply Energy with specialist Registry and advisory services. She is a registered EGR auditor and over the last 10 years has held positions various senior roles in the New Zealand electricity industry including Data Services Manager with NGC. Ewa has worked directly with Contact Energy, Todd Energy, King Country Energy, Arc Innovations, PowerNet and Bosco Connect. Ewa holds a Master of Electrical Engineering degree.

Tanya Thomson
Tanya Thomson is a Special Advisor providing Simply Energy with specialist legal advice, both in relation to Simply Energy’s transactional work and its strategic direction. She has fifteen years’ experience as a lawyer in the New Zealand energy sector and has a strong background in regulation, including advising various electricity industry participants on matters associated with the development of the current electricity market structure. She has also advised on windfarm development, Electricity Industry Reform Act compliance, electricity retailing and the upstream and downstream oil & gas industry. Tanya also has a particular expertise in competition law, especially as it affects utilities.
